Don’t Stand the Pain (Part2)

I went an osteopathic clinic 3 times for 3 days. In the end, I decided to go to an orthopedic surgeon because I was anxious about another thing. Before going to the clinic, I didn’t feel pain if I didn’t do anything. But now, I suddenly had a sharp pain in my right shoulder.

Last Saturday I had an x-Ray and explained my symptom to a doctor. “You have an Inflammation in your right inner shoulder tendon.There’s no problem with your bone and outer muscles” he expressed while showing me a plastic figure of a normal right shoulder. “Your outer muscles are thin. So if you ride your whole weight on your arm, it directly damages the inner tendon. But if your biceps and pectoralis major muscle are stronger, the damage would be lesser.” He is a professional Doctor of sport orthopedic surgery. “You can continue your capoeira training. But you need to stretch your shoulder. An important thing is stop any movement which causes pain. You should apply a cold pack to it after your training.” I’m relieved to hear that because I can not stop capoeira training.

He is a really good doctor because I injured my left knee 2 years ago, and his advice was correct. I believe his knowledge and diagnosis. After that I took some electric treatment on my shoulder, and got a prescription for 2 kinds of medicine to stop the pain.

In my conclusion, I learned 3 things from this painful experience.
1. Go to my doctor immediately If I have some pain
2. Take note of what happened –> use Evernote
3. Do more training on biceps and pectoralis major muscles
However, If I completely get well, I might forget this painful memory….

“You can continue your capoeira training. It need to starch in your shoulder. An important thing is stop a movement which cause pain. You should cold it after your training.” I’m relieved to hear that. ‘Cos I can not stop capoeira training.
