“Comprehension can measured by reading ability. It spans the breadth of your ability. Your comprehension of speaking, writing and listening can never go beyond it. If you want to get better at comprehension, you should train your reading skill.” I heard Mr.Sato say this when I attended his seminar. I agree with his opinion. I (4)know which side my bread is buttered. “How many people finished reading the assignment book?” He asked us. Only one out of about 20 attendees finished it. Half of the attendees were still in the middle of reading the book. (I didn’t read it until the seminar started.) He let us know what he (3)made of this unfortunate turn by changing the agenda of the seminar. We read the book aloud in turns and he commented and lectured related topics at appropriate times while we were reading. He (2)made an hour of rest time into homework time. He (5)made for the 2 issues before us in the chapter we had just read at that time. He required us to make a short report in 45 minutes. After that, he corrected and commented on our reports in 15 minutes and returned it to us. He didn’t (1)make fun of us, but my curiosity was extremely satisfied in this seminar. I realized he deeply considered how to improve our skills and knowledge.
