When I read a certain book, I didn’t imagine what kind of change it would bring me. The author is a chemical scientist and he produced several cosmetics based on his knowledge. He belonged to a big cosmetic company a long time ago. He liked his own work, but he often struggled about the voice of customers who might be sensitive or people with allergies.
He knows surfactants cause allergies to flare up, however, he couldn’t stop using it when he made products. He wanted to stop making products that use it but he couldn’t avoid doing so company directives.
Cynically speaking, that made him a paragon of the company. But his magnanimous conscience couldn’t stand the situation. He quit the company and started to create ideal products which do not contain allergenic substances. He was the author of the book I just read. After reading his book, I stopped using chemical shampoos and hair dyes. If I had told this fact to a friend, she would think of me as bohemian. But it’s fine, I’m not gregarious. Almost all women want to be an aesthete. Marketing companies abuse it. It stirs up consumers.
Having read the book, I felt confused. What is real beauty? Why did I use shampoo in the first place? Why did I believe that using it is common sense? I feel that I am too optimistic and naive to the point of being a Pollyanna.
