Every human wants to have a better future but I know that it would be difficult to (2)scrape through if I don’t have knowledge of psychology based on economics. However, it can be learned from the book, “Thinking, Fast And Slow”. It is useful when I need to make a decision in uncertain situations. It was written in 2011 by Daniel Kahneman who won the Economics Nobel Prize in 2002.
He teaches the skill of how to avoid bias and our brain’s tendency of fallacious recognition.
There are many choices in our private and business lives like “where do we (3)set off on our next vacation? should I build a new house? If our company were to create a new product, can we (1)scrape together enough money from a bank? etc…”
A small decision in daily life can be rectified. However, there are some logical situations where it is not advised to (4)burn your bridges, especially in your job. Thus, we all have to learn the tendencies of our own brain.
Dr. Kahneman said it’s not easy to correctly use correctly statistical knowledge in our daily life, even for professionals. But never give up. If every person realized that we don’t know ourselves well enough and that humans are often overconfident based on wrong insights, our society will significantly change.
