A decade ago, I was addicted to three TV drama series. They were “House M.D.”, “Lost”, “America’s Next Top Model”. They were from totally different categories. “House M.D.” was a medical drama, its the concept was that of a “Medical detective”. (It helped me memorize several English words related “symptoms” and “organs”.) The main character, Gregory House has an (3)astonishing skill of diagnosis. However, his outrageous or rude behavior often annoyed his friends and subordinates. He isn’t perfect, that is one of the reasons why I liked it.
The next, “Lost” started with the adventure of an uninhabited island. Tragedy (1)befell a Boeing 777’s passengers when their aircraft crashed. Also among them were several criminals. One of the themes was that they were (2)banished to the uninhabited island for redemption, but finally, it changed to something sci-fi as time travel. There were many unique characters and episodes, that was the reason why I liked it.
Thirdly, “America’s Next Top Model” was a program which was based on auditions to become a Top Model. I enjoyed watching young attractive ladies battles. Candidates tried their best on Reward Challenges. All candidates had to share their living space while recording the program. They often (4)bared their soul to their roommates in spite of TV camera recording them. Those real intentions were the reason why I like it. However, I entirely lost my interest with watch TV after I started capoeira.
Now, I just finished watching season 1 episode 1 of the Netflix’s Dark yesterday. My first thought was it reminded me ABC’s drama series “Lost”. The tone of the BGM, and the tragic dark situation gives the thought that life has inconsistency and mystery. I like it’s theme. However, I had a problem that it was difficult to distinguish several characters on this program. If I’ll continue to watch it, I’ll need to make a correlation diagram.
