My capoeira trainer said, “If you improve your capoeira skills, you should show it off for the audience.” That advice is hard for me to accept because I lack self-confidence in my capoeira technique. However, I got a hint when I attended the 2016 Brazilian Festival in Yoyogi park. I felt a “flow time” when I played the berimbau and danced at the festival. At that moment I thought about nothing; no difficult things, no worries, just fun. Now I know what is important. I threw away my scary feelings when I listened to the beautiful and powerful music. It can easily be done. So I have to remember that moment. I will recall it if I want to have more energy.
