地球温暖化防止への取り組みについて、基礎を学んでいます。今回はEU（欧州連合）の目標と進捗状況について調べてみました。
EUの目標数値
EUの公式ウェブサイトを見れば、必要な情報は見つけられましたよ。具体的な数値目標は、2020年、2030年、2050年の3段階に分けて設定されています。この目標は 2007 年に EU の指導者によって設定され、2009 年に法律で制定されているとのこと。では、それぞれ順番に見ていきましょう。
2020年は20％削減
昨年2020年の数値目標は20％削減でした。
- 温室効果ガス排出量を20％削減（1990年比）
- EU エネルギーの 20% を再生可能エネルギーから
- エネルギー効率を20%改善
The 2020 package is a set of laws passed to ensure the EU meets its climate and energy targets for the year 2020.The package sets three key targets:

・20% cut in greenhouse gas emissions (from 1990 levels)
・20% of EU energy from renewables
・20% improvement in energy efficiency
The targets were set by EU leaders in 2007 and enacted in legislation in 2009.
The EU is taking action in several areas to meet the targets.
2030年は40％削減
2030年の数値目標は40％削減です。
- 温室効果ガス排出量を40%以上削減（1990年比）
- 再生可能エネルギーを32%以上使用する
- 少なくとも 32.5% のエネルギー効率の改善
Key targets for 2030:
At least 40% cuts in greenhouse gas emissions (from 1990 levels)
At least 32% share for renewable energy
At least 32.5% improvement in energy efficiencyThe 40% greenhouse gas target is implemented by the EU Emissions Trading System, the Effort Sharing Regulation with Member States’ emissions reduction targets and the Land use, land use change and forestry Regulation. In this way, all sectors will contribute to the achievement of the 40% target by both reducing emissions and increasing removals.
All three pieces of climate legislation will now be updated with a view to implement the proposed at least 55% net greenhouse gas emissions reduction target. The Commission will come forward with the proposals by July 2021.

2050年はゴール
そして、2050年には温室効果ガスの排出量がゼロになっている。これが最終ゴールです。これを気候ニュートラルって言ってるみたい。
温室効果ガス排出量を100%削減（1990年比）
→つまり排出量をゼロに！
The EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050 – an economy with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. This objective is at the heart of the European Green Deal and in line with the EU’s commitment to global climate action under the Paris Agreement.
