I found an interesting article that talked about how some people with low abilities tend to inflate own self-assessments. The fact is not so surprising. Recently, I discussed this topic with my colleague because one of our clients has some trouble with his subordinates. He needed to get some advice (4)behind closed doors because He wants to (3)break out of this tough situation. The troublemakers became his subordinates because they were transferred from other departments. He couldn’t (1)break off this relationship. They have low job abilities and they don’t obey his orders even he explained the details of how they should they do it. This phenomenon is called the Dunning – Kruger effect in psychology.

Dunning and Kruger proved that people with low abilities usually have higher self-assessments and people with high abilities tend to have lower self-assessments. That result is a little bit scary for me, because I sometimes overestimate myself, but it brought on some solutions to remedy the situation with the troublemakers. How to bring natural awareness in their own self-evaluation is the key.
