When I was a child one of my favorite books was “Robinson Crusoe”. The storyline was unforgettable. The protagonist drifted and reached on an uninhabited island. His daily life was an adventure because he had to create everything. I was de facto (4)armchair traveler who envied his lifestyle, creativity, and self-sufficiency. Sometimes I dreamt I was on an isolated island. I imagined that I’ll make my own room on a tree, I’ll get delicious fruits that people can’t eat, I’ll listen to the singing of beautiful birds, and I’ll listen to the sound of sea waves.
I often (1)dashed to a comfortable library after school to read books to avoid the (2)damp outdoors. I couldn’t (3)curb my emotion that I wanted to know new worlds in books. That didn’t change after 35 years. The big difference is I don’t want to live on a desert island anymore. The reason is I’m addicted to the internet.

Title: I had my dream island
When I was a child one of my favorite books was “Robinson Crusoe”. The storyline was unforgettable. The protagonist was drifted and reached on an uninhabited island. His daily life was an adventure because he had to create everything. I was de facto an (4)armchair traveler who envied his lifestyle and creativity that was self-sufficient. Sometimes I had dreamed on the imaginary isolated island. I imagined that I’ll make my own room on the tree, I’ll get delicious fruits that people can’t eat, I’ll listen to the song of beautiful birds, I’ll hear the sound of sea waves.
I often (1)dashed into a comfortable library after school to read books avoided the (2)damp outdoor place. I couldn’t (3)curb my emotion that I want to know the new world in the books. That didn’t change after 35 years. The big difference is I’m not want to live a desert island now. The reason is I’m an addict of the internet.

homework: (1)dash, (2)damp, (3)curb
expression: (4)armchair traveller
Someone who reads books or watches TV programmes about other places and countries, but doesn’t actually travel anywhere, is called an armchair traveller.
A surprising number of adventure books are bought by armchair travellers.
