Now I’m reading “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”.
It was written by Robert M.Pirsig in 1974.
This is related to another one I read but I don’t remember which one.
At first I thought the title was strange.
But I could understand the relationship between Zen and motorcycle maintenance which author wanted to say.
I don’t ride a motorcycle now. I just ride a bicycle.
That’s why I can empathize a little.
There are 4 characters in this book.
The leading character is the author and he is accompanied by his son.
They are traveling together by motorcycle with a married couple, John and silvia.
Sometimes Robert could not understand why John and Silvia didn’t try to repair their own motorcycles.
Robert decided to learn how to repair his precious motorcycle when it was damaged by the repair shop.
But John and silvia didn’t change their attitudes.
Traveling by motorcycle sometimes brings tough situations. In one instance, the motorcycle’s engine became overheated, and in another they heard some strange noises, and finally the motorcycle broke down.
I think this way of thinking (or not thinking) is dangerous.
They failed to think deeply.
They cannot accept the fact something happened.
I cannot explain the book very well.
but I think if I have some problem I can accept it and I will search for the best solution.

These motorcycle travel sometimes bring tough situation. For instance, If the motorcycle’s engine is too heated, or heard to something strange noise, finally it was stopped.
It’s dangerous. They just avoided the deeply thinking.
They cannot accept the fact something happened.
I cannot explain well.
but I think if I have some problem, I accept that.
and I will search best solution.
