I visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum on April 14th, Saturday in 2018. My aim was to attend a one-day study tour(6h), because I’ve been curious why human beings often become cruel to other human beings. However, I didn’t get an answer even after attending it. It just served to increase my curiosity. I still thought of the same question, but I got another insight from this trip.

On my return flight, I watched Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner”(1982). It’s a neo-noir masterpiece set in a dystopian Los Angeles. I was so surprised because I got scared when I watched it. Interestingly, I didn’t feel this kind of fear when I attended study-tours in Auschwitz. So let me try to (3)explain away my emotions.

Why did the movie scare me? It’s a work of fiction, however, history is non-fiction.
In my opinion, fiction holds the intentions of the author and/or director. It’s often not as complicated as history. If the creators accomplish finishing their work, they have to (2-2)even it out to make it logical for it to (1)end up a success with society. If Sales and Marketing fail, the failure becomes a (4)a bitter pill to swallow for the creators. Thus, the general public can enjoy and imagine the limited expanse which the creators have made.

“What do you think? What can you see?” When I attended the study tour, the guide frequently asked the attendees these questions. I was only confused because I couldn’t find the reason and answer what I could understand. I couldn’t find the words to speak and express emotions. I was just confused.
