For the past weeks, I have been hesitating to go on a week-long vacation, mainly because of three reasons.
Firstly, I find it troublesome adjusting and rescheduling my life. If I continue on my daily routine, I can go on about my life without any worries.
Secondly, I want to avoid annoying my co-workers.If I take a long vacation, somebody needs to do my job in my stead. I don’t want other people to see me as a selfish person. If I were to(1)come down with the flu, it would be a valid and suitable reason to take the day off. However, if the reason is travel, I feel somewhat guilty. I’m curious why I subconsciously think so.
Finally, I lost my inspiration and have had a strong motivation to go abroad since last year. Maybe my health has something to do with it. I was often (4)beside myself with meaningless anger or sadness at the end of my workday.
However, my fears were utterly groundless. When I told my boss about my vacation plans, my boss (2)came forward and told me that I had his full support. His attitude was unexpectedly kind.
Now I (3)came out with my vacation plans on the Google calendar at work. As a consequence, I overcame those negative reasons.
