I had used 3 types of communication devices until last month because they had different roles.
One was a Flip phone, I used it for ordinary phone calls and public transportation tickets. It was connected to my credit card, thus I didn’t need to buy train or bus tickets every day because it was automatically charged and withdrawn from my monthly salary. Even if I forget to bring my wallet, I didn’t get (3)turned away from the station or bus if I had my flip phone.
The second was an Android smartphone which my friend recommended. I’ve been using iPhones for a long time, but I wanted to (2)try on the Android OS. It was also useful when I traveled alone to several foreign countries. Some transportation apps were only Android OS. I used it when iOS had some bug or updated slowly. I learned when traveling, especially alone, one has to consider preparing an alternative way when some trouble happens.
The last was a tablet which is an iPad and is an essential item of my life. It’s my own library and secretary. Somebody said PCs are an external hard disk for our brain. I highly agree with that opinion, because my life absolutely improved by using a PC and tablet. When I bought a new tablet in January I didn’t (1)trade in my old one because I didn’t know how to do so. However, if I knew I could (4)have had my cake and eaten it.
I changed my smartphone free sim plan and canceled my flip phone’s contract this month. Because I will not use a phone starting next month in Japan. It incurred a cancelation fee but It couldn’t be helped because it was because of my laziness. Gadgets are convenient, but I always have to update my information to avoid loss. What should I do to enjoy managing that data? That is my problem now.
