I donated 10 kgs of rice to St. Ignatius church in Tokyo because it will be difficult to eat everything until I leave Japan. It was not so easy to find a volunteer organization that accepts rice. I searched the internet and selected a suitable group which helps homeless people in Shinjuku. They stated on their website that donors don’t need to pay a delivery cost. It had a due date, but I didn’t know it at the time. When I checked the website again, the offer had ended. So I searched again and finally (3)tracked down the church. I sent a message to the leader of the volunteers and asked if it was possible for them to cover the rice’s delivery cost. She said they couldn’t. They are volunteers so they reserve a bigger (4)slice of the cake to impoverished people. I paid the delivery cost and sent the rice over. After the donation, I’ve been (2)toying with the idea of charity and volunteerism, I thought the system was not so rational. If a plane wants to (1)touch down safely, it always needs maintenance and an accurate system. It brings the reliable results for keep passenger’s lives safe.
If the volunteer organization wants to help people more, It would be helpful to create a more efficient way like an airport does.
